Wedding Favors Your Guests Will Love
Here are a few ideas for wedding favors that your guests will love (and that won’t end up in the garbage can).
  • Something edible
An edible favor won’t last forever, but it will be appreciated by your guests. You could choose nearly anything! Some popular options include small boxes of chocolates, chocolate bars, jars of jam, cookies, jars of spices or local honey, teabags... the possibilities are endless!

  • Coasters
Coasters are easy and fairly inexpensive to have made, and they can feature photos of you and your fiance, a photo of the wedding venue, or just about anything else. Tie two together with a pretty ribbon, and your guests will think of you every time they want to save their coffee table from water rings.

  • Seasonal gifts
If you’re having a summer wedding, why not give out sunglasses or small bottles of sunscreen? Ladies might particularly appreciate flip-flips to change into once their feet get tired from dancing in heels. Winter wedding-goers might appreciate lip balm, stretchy gloves or perhaps even warm socks. If you are getting married in the spring, how about seed packets for forget-me-nots or other romantic flowers? You could also buy seed paper, which is biodegradable paper that contains seeds; the entire piece is planted and watered, and with any luck, will grow into a plant.

  • Plants
Whether it’s a small plant to keep in the house or a seedling that will one day grow into a tree, plants make a great wedding favor. You could package them in small terra cotta pots or in antique teacups. Be sure to add a tag with any notes that those without a green thumb might not know, like whether the plant thrives in the sun or the shade, and how often it should be watered.

  • Charity donations
One practice that some brides choose is to forgo the tangible take-home gift and instead to make a donation to a charity near and dear to her heart. Place a small amount in the name of each guest, then present each guest with a notecard letting him know of the donation made in his name. This is a nice way to help others while not giving your guests something else to carry.
No matter what you give your guests, be sure to add a tag with the names of you and your new spouse, the date and perhaps the name of the wedding venue. Many people do save the tags of wedding favors, even after the favor itself has been used up.
