6 Top Tips For Organizing Great Wedding Entertainment in New Jersey
Wedding Entertainment is a huge factor to consider in the wedding planning process and should be given due consideration sooner rather than later! Because admit it - more often than not, your guests will most likely not be able to recall the theme of your wedding cake or your beautiful centerpieces, but they will remember gettin' down and having a ball with all the new friends they've made. Also, you’ll never forget seeing all of the most important people in your world dancing together as if they've known each other forever.
Or… you'll remember how the wedding ended at midnight… Seriously though, there's a lot to consider, starting with one of the big ones: The Wedding DJ !

The Art Of Organizing Great Wedding Entertainment

No one can bring a wedding party to life quite the same way a DJ can. Still, even once you've decided on this, there are several more things to consider. To avoid becoming overwhelmed, consider your vision for the wedding reception.
You know you've always had at least a semblance of one. Close your eyes and imagine it. Talk it out. Different visions call for different music: a soothing acoustic set would be perfect for a casual daytime garden reception, while a rollicking variety has something for everyone and can set the tone for an unforgettable dance party.

TIP 1:

Consider hosting a "listening party" with your trusted friends & family to work out what music style will suit your wedding best.  Consider the setting, the time of day and any special theme you have planned.

TIP 2:

Confirm that the wedding DJ can play a little something for all of your guests, from your 13-year-old cousin to your grandparents. You’ll want to be sure your guests are as excited about your party as you are and all will be enticed to get up onto the dance floor.

TIP 3:

Make sure the Wedding DJ can play your favorite songs and especially your wedding song! A good wedding DJ will have a very large database of music to satisfy all genres of musical tastes - and if not they will be able to source it for you.

TIP 4:

Besides making sure they can play the songs you want, be sure they also will not play the songs you don't want. "Do not play" lists are also very important, or it could lead any number of awkward moments - I heard about a wedding where the groom's mother thought she was doing something sweet by requesting the DJ play one of her favorite romantic songs, only to learn later it was actually the bride's song with her first husband… and the groom knew it. Ooops!

TIP 5:

Be sure to let your DJ know about your wedding's dress code. EG: Black Tie Event, Hawaiian,  Medieval Theme etc. That way your DJ can also dress to be a part of your theme.

TIP 6:

Last but certainly not least, make sure there is ample space at your venue for your DJ to set up AND for your guests to dance. If you are having an outdoor reception, make sure the location is equipped for that and if there is any additional equipment you might need to rent, or will it be provided by your venue or the DJ?  Consider any additional enhancements like special lighting effects, video screens or other atmospheric enhancements.
